12/3/07- Today I and Colin have created the website. We listened to our teachers introduce us onto how to work with this sort of program. We also learned about the guidelines for this which is at the St. Andrews website.
At home I and Colin connected through G-mail instant messaging. We discussed how our timeline would look and we created one. At the end we posted the timeline to the website.
12/4/07- Today I began work on looking for websites. I also gathered up interesting facts from the websites and put them on my "notes" page.
We are starting to make plans for what this site would look like when we are done with it.
12/5/07- Today I created a general outline for the Wiki. This outline can be found under my notes. In class we also learned how to do website evaluation which will definitely prove useful in the long run.
12/6/07- Today I decided to work ahead of schedule. So I have finished the link "why is Thermus Aquaticus beneficial." There are many interesting facts including the multi billion dollar industry that revolves around the bacteria.
I and Colin have been getting very far ahead of schedule. At this rate our project will be done far ahead of our scheduled time. I am very happy :).
12/8/07- The only thing that i did today was some editing for my journal. I also double checked the websites to make sure we got all the information we could get from them.
Later on today i got some good ideas for some work on this website. Really EXCITED.
12/11/07- I did not post for the past few days because we are so ahead of schedule we could take a break from the work.
So today I looked on MSNBC.com and found a recent article on Thermus Aquaticus. It is discussing other extreme bacteria similar to it. So what I did is a copied it so that it would look like the original article.
12/12/07- Today I went to our informational links for information regarding the nutritional requirements for the bacteria. I also looked for information regarding its reproduction. Since information of Bacteria's reproduction is generic for this type I had to find information regarding its nutrition.
The only information that I could find as far as the nutritional requirements for the bacteria. All I could find was the fact that most of its energy came from photosynthetic bacteria and organisms nearby. Because of this lack of information we had to delete the nutrition and reproduction section of our wiki. So this information is going into a new section.
12/15/07- Today I am finishing the final edits to this wiki site. I need to fill in some of the gaps of information in this journal to give a better account of our project.
Later on today I finished my student evaluation report. I am making final preparations of the site to show it to our teachers.
